A healthy lifestyle recommended for elderly people

People who are above 60 years of age are considered senior citizens and elderly in India. Old age is generally not liked by many because of the various limitations that old people have to go through in their lives at the last stage of their lives. For some old people, age is just a number and they don’t consider their hair turning white or face getting wrinkles, or inability to walk like a young man as limitations but they embrace these changes by trying to do whatever they can and lead a happy life.

However, some people as they cross the age of 60 become very cranky and anxious about who will look after them if they face any major health issues in their lives like heart attack, dementia, mental disorders, diabetes, neurological issues, and others. The constant worry of not living life the way like when in young or middle-age makes senior citizens find unhappiness in their lives in whatever they have or own and this leads to the onset of various other health and psychological problems.

As the majority of the old people stay at home as they don’t seek or get a job outside their homes in that phase, they are also exposed to some sort of verbal or physical abuse by their partners or relatives or own family members. Thus, one has to put up a very strong front and seek help if the issues at home are more than manageable.

Following a healthy lifestyle by regularly practicing a set schedule to pray to God, watch serials or movies on television, cleaning the house with whatever they can do, helping a child or youngsters in solving their problems in life, keeping themselves engaged with an activity of their choice like reading newspapers, writing a book or journal, listening to songs on radio or YouTube can also keep their mind engaged and make them less anxious about the everyday problems in life.
