News Desk – A 30-year-old Indian student from Haryana was stabbed to death in Worcester, United Kingdom, leading his family to urgently request the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) to help bring his body back to India.
The victim, Vijay Kumar Sheoran, belonged to Jagrambass village in Charkhi Dadri district. He had moved to the UK earlier this year to study at the University of the West of England, Bristol. Before going abroad, he had quit his government job two years ago to pursue higher education.
What Happened?
According to West Mercia Police, Vijay was found with serious stab injuries on Barbourne Road around 4.15 am on November 25. He was taken to the hospital but died later the same day.
Five men have been arrested on suspicion of murder.
All five are currently out on bail.
A sixth suspect who was detained earlier has been released without further action.
Police are asking witnesses to come forward as the investigation continues.
Family Appeals for Help
Vijay’s elder brother, Ravi Kumar, has written to the MEA saying the family cannot handle the legal formalities, paperwork, and expenses involved in bringing the body back from the UK.
“We appeal to the government to help us so that his last rites can be held here,” Ravi told PTI.
Local MLA Sunil Sangwan has also contacted External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar, seeking quick assistance for the grieving family.
Family Awaits Vijay’s Return
As UK authorities investigate the murder, Vijay’s family in Haryana is waiting anxiously for help so they can perform his final rites in India.
