Bollywood and Hollywood actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas and filmmaker Anurag Kashyap have been selected among the 50 celebrated filmmakers and actors who are going to be the ambassadors for Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) 2020.
The festival dates are 10 – 19 September 2020, which will be having digital screenings and virtual red carpets for the first time due to the COVID-19 pandemic that makes social distancing and wearing of masks compulsory.
Priyanka and Anurag are among Oscar winners and celebrated international names including filmmakers Martin Scorsese, Alfonso Cuaron, Taika Waititi, Ava DuVernay, Rian Johnson, Denis Villeneuve, and actors Nicole Kidman, Nadine Labaki, Riz Ahmed, Isabelle Huppert, Zhang Ziyi.
This year’s festival will have 50 films during its first five days in physical theaters through socially-distanced screenings.
The festival’s annual TIFF Tribute Awards event, will be conducted online this year.
