The first batch of the generic version of Remdesivir dispatched to 5 states

New Delhi: Amidst the growing corona infection in the country, there have been reports that the first consignment of Corona drug Covifor has reached in five states of the country. Now this medicine can be used on serious patients of Corona. Presently, the drug has reached hospitals in states like Hyderabad, Delhi, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra. Right now only 20 thousand injections of this medicine have arrived in these states.

According to NDTV news, Hetero Labs has reported that the next consignment of Covifor drug will be sent in Kolkata, Indore, Bhopal, Lucknow, Patna, Bhubaneswar, Ranchi, Vijayawada, Cochin, Trivandrum and Goa in the next one week, in these cities 1 lakh injections of the drug is targeted to be dispatched in a week.

An injection of Covifor costs around Rs 5400. In addition, a corona patient needs 6 doses of Remdesivir. In such a situation, it is clear that a patient may have to spend up to Rs 32,000 to take this medicine in the event of a serious infection.

Covifor is the first generic version of Remdesvir. The company said in a statement that it can be used to treat patients admitted to adults and children, due to severe infections in hospitals.
