Meerut : October is a special month and is recognised as breast cancer awareness month to spread awareness about the fast-growing disease to females across the globe.
In the wake of spreading the message further, an awareness program was organized by Seth Hiralala Mitthal Charitable Trust in Meerut. The charitable trust has been known to take various initiatives in association with organizations to help society and promote good health and other relevant causes.
The breast cancer awareness program organised by Dr Umang Mitthal who is a senior cancer surgeon at Meerut Cancer Hospital, was attended by hundreds of women audiences. The Chief Guest of the program and Chief Trustee of Seth Hiralal Charitable Trust was Dr.SP Mitthal.
Dr. Nalini Mittal, CEO, Seth Hiralal Mittal Charitable Trust, Dr. SP Mittal, HOD of Cancer Department of Fortis Hospital Noida and Radiation Oncologist Dr. Tripti Saxena, Dr. Ashish Jain, Dr. Mithu Nehra, Dr. Asha Anand, Vandana ji, Mamta Dixit and Pramila Dixit etc. were also present and actively participated and gave their respective contribution to the cause.
In the special session, Dr. Umang Mitter, Director and Senior Cancer Surgeon of Meerut Cancer Hospital shared lot of insights and information about the prevention of breast cancer and its primary symptoms.
Many cancer-related questions were asked by the people present in the program for self knowledge and queries, which was answered by Dr. Umang Mittal. Cancer Survivor Dr. Mitu Nehra also delivered a lecture on Life After Cancer, maintaining good mental health and physical fitness.
Towards the end of the program, pink-colored balloons were released in the air by Dr. Umang Mittal.
As per the details shared in the informative session, every year more than two lakh people develop cancer in India. Apart from this, close to 1.25 lakh victims of breast cancer lose life every year. The main cause of death due to breast cancer is due to late detection or carelessness about it.
