DCGI approves testing of Covaxin for children

New Delhi: NITI Aayog member (health) Dr VK Paul said that the drug control general India (DCGI) has approved Covaxin for clinical trial of Phase II / III in people between 2 to 18 years of age. This trial will begin in the next 10 to 12 days.

On DRDO-developed anti-covid drug 2DG, he told that he would test the drug in the Covid-19 National Task Force, in which it would be decided to include it in the treatment protocol. The Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) has approved it in emergency use.

At the same time, on the variants found in Singapore, Dr. VK Paul said that they are testing the report of that particular variant. He said that in case of Covid-19 among children, it is reassuring that they do not get serious infection. They are watching it.
