Center completely fails on oxygen crisis: Delhi government

New Delhi: During the hearing in the Delhi High Court regarding the oxygen crisis in Delhi, the Kejriwal government accused the central government of not giving full oxygen, he said that the central government has completely failed in Delhi and the country. 490 MT oxygen is only on paper, while the truth is that till date we have never got so much oxygen. He said that we had asked for 700 MT oxygen, the center is completely indifferent and insensitive to Delhi. Enough is enough, we will not remain silent because it is the central government. He said that the Center is misbehaving with us.

Delhi government told the court that we are going to make 15,000 beds in the next one week. For this, 280MT more oxygen is needed, according to the data we will need a total of 704 MT of oxygen. There will be 500 ICU beds by May 5 and 700 more by May. Accordingly, 4866 ICU beds will become 6066 ICU beds, so we need 976 MT oxygen. The Delhi government appealed to the court and said that we should be provided 1000 MT of oxygen. The central government should tell the court what is the capacity of oxygen production in the country? And how much has been allocated to the states?

Delhi government said that it has been proved scientifically that only oxygen can save corona patients, there is no other option, they said that we want to know three things. First, what is India’s oxygen-generating capacity, as the Center has taken over all assets to deal with this epidemic? Second, it is important to know how much allocation has been done by the Central Government to other states. The Delhi government said that we were allotted 431 MT last week, up from 300 MT, why is it that many states have not been allocated despite having more capacity?
