New Delhi: To combat the Covid epidemic in India, aid material has so far been received from 13 countries including nine oxygen generators, 2116 oxygen concentrators, 1379 cylinders and 965 ventilators and accessories and about one lakh 36 thousand remdesivir injections.
According to government data, aid material has come from Britain, Mauritius, Singapore, Russia, United Arab Emirates, Ireland, Romania, USA, Thailand, Germany, France, Belgium and Italy. About one and a half million Sputnik-5 vaccines have also been sent from Russia.
These materials have been received from 27 April to Sunday 2 May. In addition, 80 tonnes of liquefied medical oxygen is coming from Saudi Arabia through the sea. France has provided India with eight state-of-the-art oxygen producing plants in the hospital. Each Novair Premium RX 400 Hospital Level Oxygen Generator can deliver up to 250 beds of oxygen for a year. This oxygen generator is capable of providing continuous life for more than ten years to eight hospitals. The government has already identified eight hospitals where these plants will be set up on the basis of priority and need. At least four of these hospitals are from Delhi. This will provide relief for oxygen supply at many important places.
Foreign Secretary Harshvardhan Shringla says that more than 40 countries including the US, Russia, Japan, France, Germany and Britain have offered medical supplies and oxygen-related equipment to help India. More than 500 oxygen production plants, 4 thousand oxygen concentrators, 10,000 oxygen cylinders are coming from different parts of the world.
