New Delhi: The coronavirus has again begun to rage through the country. The number of covid-19 positive cases has shot up to more than 4.33 crore, according to data issued by the Union Health Ministry on Sunday. It says that the number of active cases is more than 1.52 lakh. Aside from that, the number of cases reported in the past 24 hours has gone up 20, 279.

The people have, however, cast off the anti-corona norms and masks. There is no ban on public gatherings including Kanwar Yatra and political rallies which did not take place for two years because of the corona pandemic. According to reports, more than 36 people have lost their lives because of the disease, but the recovery rate has been more than 98%. Nearly, 201.99 crore people have been vaccinated against the disease.

The health ministry report says that the 36 deaths include seven each from Kerala, five from Maharashtra, four from Himachal Pradesh, two each from Bihar and Jammu and Kashmir and one each from Assam, Chhattisgarh, Delhi Gujarat, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Odisha, Puducherry and Tripura. five from Maharashtra, four from Himachal Pradesh, two each from Bihar and Jammu and Kashmir and one each from Assam, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Gujarat, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Odisha, Pondicherry and Tripura.

Meanwhile, Madhya Pradesh has reported 262 new cases and the positivity rate has gone up to 3.2%, sources in the state health department said on Sunday. It also said that 1.78 lakh people were given the anti-coronavirus shots at 2, 491 sites in the state.
