New Delhi: According to a study conducted by epidemiologists in the UK regarding coronavirus, attempts to slow and pause the coronavirus outbreak faster than it can suppress beds in UK hospitals and there may be around 2,50,000 deaths in the UK and over 1 million deaths in the US.

The study, which has not been published in the Peer-Reviewed Journal, was released on Monday by the Covid-19 response team of Imperial College, London, which also suggested strategies for the UK government to tackle the epidemic. The UK’s Chief Scientific Advisor Sir Patrick Vallance confirmed on Tuesday that the study by Imperial College was among the documents the UK government is studying.

The plan also included strong advice on staying home and suggesting that 10 or more people avoid getting together.

At the same time, the World Health Organization (WHO) on Tuesday urged its member countries of South-East Asia to intensify efforts to combat the corona virus. So far 480 cases of corona virus have been reported in these countries, and eight people have died due to this.

Dr. Poonam Khetarpal Singh, Regional Director of South East Asia of WHO said, ‘Things are changing very fast. We need to intensify efforts to stop the virus from infecting more people. ‘

New Delhi: Rejecting a petition against Jammu and Kashmir MP Farooq Abdullah, the Supreme Court on Wednesday said that expressing a separate opinion from the government cannot be termed as 'treason'. The apex court said, "The expression of those opinions which are different from the governmental opinion cannot be called treason." According to the Supreme Court, the petitioners failed to prove their allegation that Farooq Abdullah had sought the help of China and Pakistan against India to abolish Article 370 granting special status to Jammu and Kashmir. The petitioner was fined Rs 50,000. The petition against the leader of the National Conference is linked to his remarks, which are against the Centre's move to abolish special status to Jammu and Kashmir under Article 370.
