The administration of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced a raise in the monthly honorarium of MNREGA employees and gram rozgar sevaks on Monday. The honorarium hike, which will take effect this month, responds to a long-standing demand ahead of the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections in early 2022.
Yogi Adityanath made this and other announcements during his speech to the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Conference in Lucknow, the state capital. He further stated that an HR policy for MNREGA personnel, similar to that of the Uttar Pradesh State Rural Livelihood Mission, will be implemented within a month. “

Yogi Adityanath also declared that several additional rural development department jobs would be added to MNREGA personnel’s job descriptions. After then, before terminating the services of gram rozgar sevaks, the deputy commissioner MNREGA’s approval would be required so that no one could remove them forcefully.
MGNREGA workers and gram sewaks will now receive a stipend of ten thousand rupees each, technical assistants 15,656, computer operators 15,156, additional program officer 34,140, accounts assistant 15,156, operation assistant, helpline executive Rs18,320, class IV workers 9,000, block social audit coordinator 14,100, and district social audit coordinator 19,900. Apart from that, all-female contractual employees would be entitled to 180 days of maternity leave, according to Adityanath.

The CM stated that the state government is committed to making scheme benefits available to beneficiaries’ corruption-free and transparent. He stated that the department should complete projects worth Rs 13,000 crore this year by providing at least 20 lakh families with 100 days of employment. Yogi Adityanath remembered how, for many years, he had received complaints about gram rozgar sewaks not being paid honoraria.
