WTC final: India declared playing eleven, Kohli go with Shami instead of Siraj

New Delhi. Indian team captain Virat Kohli has announced his final playing 11 a day before the match for the historic World Test Championship final match to be played between India and New Zealand. During the pre-match press conference, captain Virat Kohli informed about the team’s release soon, minutes after which BCCI released its playing 11. Indian captain Virat Kohli worked out the plan to go with the combination of 6 batsmen and 5 bowlers as expected and included 3 seamers and 2 spin all-rounders in India’s bowling attack.

Before the match, there was constant discussion as to who would get a chance between Mohammad Siraj and Mohammed Shami, or whether Ravindra Jadeja would have to sit out if India thought of going with 4 seamers instead of 3. Answering all these questions, Virat Kohli decided to leave out Mohammad Siraj, Umesh Yadav, Hanuma Vihari and Wriddhiman Saha and picked the playing 11 that everyone expected.

Captain Virat Kohli has relied on Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill as the opening batsmen as expected, while the middle order has been given to Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane and Rishabh Pant. In the bowling, captain Virat Kohli has relied on the pace attack of Ishant Sharma, Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah along with the pair of Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin.

During the press conference, captain Virat Kohli criticized the good man’s statement and said that I do not understand this term. By saying good players in one team, you are doing the work of telling the players of the rest of the team to be bad.

Indian Team Playing 11: Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane, Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant, Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, Ishant Sharma, Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah.
