Will Akhilesh choose one-to-one with Yogi or give him a safe passage?

Lucknow: The election is over and now it’s the time to take bold decisions that would lead the path for the next one. Samajwadi Party’s chief Akhilesh Yadav had to decide whether he will be the leader of the opposition by himself or he will resign the MLA seat from Karhal that helped him in his hard time. Political Pundits are of the view that if Akhilesh chooses to be an MLA and holds the post of the leader of the opposition, it would be a better choice for him as well as his party. If he leaves the seat of an MLA and stays away directly from the scene of the politics of Uttar Pradesh, then it would be a safe passage for Yogi, and BJP’s battle for 2024 will become easier.

Since Ram Govind Chaudhary is unable to make his way to the legislative assembly this time and Ahmad Hasan, the Leader of Opposition in Legislative Council is no more. So Akhilesh must choose leaders for both houses. Experts say that Akhilesh must take the charge of the leader of the opposition in the legislative assembly by himself and the charge of the leader in the Legislative Council should be handed over to Ram Govind Chaudhary after sending him to the upper house. If Akhilesh takes the charge in the legislative council, then BJP will remain under pressure and that will boost the enthusiasm of his MLAs in the house. If he will chose the way to parliament then it will lower the morale of his MLAs as it happened in the last term of Yogi’s government.

Akhilesh shouldn’t repeat the same mistake as Rahul did
There are two examples that Akhilesh should look at. One is Sonia Gandhi, the working president of Congress, and Tejaswi Yadav, Bihar’s Ex-CM Lalu’s son. They both choose to lead from the front on harder days. When Sonia entered to politics, Congress was in its tough days. Sonia became the leader of opposition in Lok Sabha in 1998 and she remained in the chair till congress lead UPA Govt formed its government in 2004. Similarly, Tejaswi became the leader of the opposition when Nitish Kumar went with BJP to form the government breaking alliance with RJD and Congress in Bihar. Akhilesh shouldn’t choose the path of Rahul Gandhi. Unlikely his mother, Rahul Gandhi never tried to lead the party from the front in Lok Sabha. It always gave free passage to the government and made the path of the party harder and harder. The party is continuously shrinking. In BJP’s growth, it is not all about BJP’s hard work and Modi’s image, it is the mistakes of Congress too.
