Mumbai: Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray has said that wherever there is a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government, there are protests like Shaheen Bagh. Referring to anti-CAA protests, Uddhav Thackeray said that there have been riots in Uttar Pradesh. Regarding the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) scandal, Thackeray said that the goons beat up the students but no one was arrested.
Uddhav Thackeray has slammed the BJP over the issue of protests against the CAA. Let us tell you that after meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently, Uddhav Thackeray said that there is no need to fear the CAA. On one hand Uddhav Thackeray is supporting the CAA, on the other hand, Shiv Sena’s alliance partner Congress is openly against the CAA.
On the anti-CAA protests, Uddhav Thackeray said, ‘Wherever BJP governments are in power, be it Uttar Pradesh or Delhi (which is under the Home Ministry), we have seen that everywhere like Shaheen Bagh for more than 60 days Demonstrations are ongoing. In Uttar Pradesh, there have been riots during the CAA demonstrations.
