New Delhi: America will send raw material to produce Covishield vaccine. An urgent need is being felt to increase the production of this vaccine against Corona. US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan gave this information for talks with his counterpart in India, NSA Ajit Doval. The two officials held talks on all aspects of the war against Corona. The US has said that it will immediately provide the source of raw materials needed for India to increase production of the Covishield vaccine.
The production capacity of the vaccine is not increasing much due to lack of raw materials. While more are advocating for corona vaccine. Sullivan said that his country would make therapies, rapid diagnostic test kits, ventilators and PPE suits available to India.
The US Development Finance Corporation (DFC) is making significant funding for the expansion of production capacity for BioE. BioE is also a vaccine manufacturer. This will allow the production of one billion doses of the Covid-19 vaccine by the end of 2022. The US will also deploy its top health agency Center for Disease Control (CDC) and an expert team of public health advisors from USAID, who will work in close collaboration with the US Embassy, India’s Ministry of Health and the Epidemic Intelligence Service staff.
