Upto 35000 Crores Investment Due to Noida Airport: Yogi Adityanath

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath claimed on Tuesday that the Noida International Airport will bring in up to 35,000 crores in investment to Uttar Pradesh, adding that the greenfield project will create one lakh jobs. Mr Adityanath made the remarks while personally inspecting preparations for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s attendance at the foundation laying ceremony of the airport in Jewar, Gautam Buddh Nagar, on Thursday.

He said that the Noida International Airport (NIA) will assist the state greatly, particularly its western regions and those in the national capital region, such as Gautam Buddh Nagar, Ghaziabad, Bulandshahr, Aligarh, and Hapur.  He also mentioned that there will be MRO (maintenance, repair, and overhaul) options for aeroplanes at the airport.

Mr. Adityanath stated that the Noida International greenfield airport will be the “first airport in India” to be pollution-free, and that it will not only be India’s but also Asia’s largest airport. The chief minister also made a jab at the state’s past non-BJP rulers.

Mr. Adityanath stated that a comprehensive strategy is in the works to combine the airport’s growth and employment prospects in the region. “Near the airport, a film city is also being built. Its planning is nearing completion, and the film city is expected to attract significant investment “he stated “Similarly, Aligarh is a key node in the defence industrial corridor, and it will be adjacent to the airport in Jewar,” he added.

The state government is now working on a medical device park and many other infrastructural projects in the region, according to the chief minister. He claimed that just two airports were operational in Uttar Pradesh till 2017, but that currently, thanks to the Centre’s regional connectivity initiative, the state has nine operational airports.

Mr. Adityanath stated that the new airports are being planned in places where no one could have envisaged them being built, such as the Vindhya region near Sonbhadra, Chitrakoot, Lalitpur, and Azamgarh and Shravasti in eastern Uttar Pradesh. He stated that airport planning projects in Aligarh, Saharanpur, Moradabad, and Meerut are nearing completion.

“This happened in the previous four to five years, and it happened quickly and transparently “he stated Mr Adityanath, in a dig at the opposition parties, said the large foundation-laying event was also needed to “emphasise the timetable of development projects” in the state to “those persons who say they had also intended to build projects but were unable to do so.”
