Muzaffarnagar: A tragic accident took place on the Muzaffarnagar-Saharanpur State Highway on Wednesday night. The workers on foot were crushed by a roadways bus.

In Muzaffarnagar, the uncontrolled bus of the roadways has crushed the migrant laborers. In this accident, 6 workers died on the spot while 4 workers were injured. According to preliminary information, these workers were going from Punjab to Gopalganj in Bihar on foot. The accident took place close to the Muzaffarnagar Deoband Saharanpur highway toll plaza of Thana Nagar Kotwali area.

Pedestrian workers were crushed by a government bus from behind. On receiving information about the incident, the police reached the spot, the police sent all the injured to the district hospital for treatment, seeing that their condition was serious, the doctor referred them to Meerut where they are undergoing treatment.

Police took possession of all the dead bodies from the spot and sent them for postmortem. All the workers have been identified. Hundreds of laborers coming from behind, sitting in trucks and other vehicles, sent them forward.

According to the information, the driver of the bus was drunken. As soon as this bus crossed the Gholi check post of Thana Deoband area of ​​Saharanpur and entered the border of Muzaffarnagar district, the roadways bus crushed these laborers a short distance before the toll plaza. Police caught the roadways bus driver. The police has started investigating the case. The police has taken the driver into custody.
