Union minister Danve says, China, Pakistan behind farmers’ protest

New Delhi: Union minister Raosaheb Danve on Wednesday claimed that China and Pakistan were behind the ongoing protests by farmers, who are seeking repeal of three new farm laws. The Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee has described Danve’s statement as an “insult” to the farmers. The committee condemned that the farmers were being termed as ‘traitors’ and ‘chaotic’ for protesting.

DSGMC President S Mazinder Singh Sirsa issued a video message on Wednesday saying that ‘the farmers are demonstrating peacefully and the government has been unable to do justice. Farmers who fight for the country and kill themselves, grow food, whose children also become martyrs for the country, do not try to show them as traitors. ‘ Describing such incidents as ‘shameful’, he said that the ministers and spokespersons of the government are continuously making such allegations.

Raosaheb Danve had given a statement on agitation of farmers at a program in Jalna district of Maharashtra on Wednesday. Danve had said, ‘The movement that is going on does not belong to the farmers. China and Pakistan are behind this. Muslims were instigated first in this country. NRC is coming, CAA is coming and in six months Muslims will have to leave this country. Has a single Muslim left the country? ‘ He further said, ‘Those efforts did not succeed and now the farmers are being told that they will have to bear the loss. This is a conspiracy of other countries.
