Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Thursday that the only criterion for measuring governmental decisions should be ‘national interest’ and when politics dominates, the country suffers its loss. Giving detailed information about the benefits that the country is getting from the Sardar Sarovar Dam located here today, he said that its construction work was stuck due to politics due to which the country suffered a lot. He said that those who do so have no remorse.
Modi was addressing the concluding session of the 80th All India Conference of Presiding Officers through video conference here. The two-day conference began on Wednesday, which was inaugurated by President Ramnath Kovind. Modi said in his address, “The basis of every decision should be the same.” It should be weighed on the same scales… There should be one standard and that is national interest. When politics dominates rather than country and public interest in decisions, the country has to bear its loss. Sardar Sarovar Dam is also a great example of this. ”
On this occasion, the Prime Minister paid tribute to the people killed in the terrorist attack and police personnel in Mumbai on this day and said that today’s India is combating terrorism with a new policy-new way. He said, “I also salute our security forces who are trying to defend India, who are thwarting conspiracies like the Mumbai attack today, covering a small area of terror.” During this period, the Prime Minister said that one nation, one election was the need of India and urged the Presiding Officers to discuss it.
