Srinagar: Terrorists have targeted Special Police Officer (SPO) and his family in Jammu and Kashmir. Terrorists entered the house of SPO Fayaz Ahmed in Hariparigam village of Pulwama district and opened fire indiscriminately. During this, Fayaz Ahmed, his wife and daughter were seriously injured and were immediately rushed to the hospital where he died during treatment.
Kashmir Zone Police issued a statement after this attack saying, ‘Terrorists fired indiscriminately after entering the house of SPO Fayaz Ahmed of Hariparigam, Awantipora. He, his wife and daughter have suffered serious injuries in this terrorist incident. Ahmed succumbed to his injuries in a critical condition while his wife died during treatment. The area has been cordoned off and the search operation is on.
Before targeting the SPO’s family, the Jammu Air Force Station was targeted by drones by the terrorists. Terrorists have used drones for the first time to target important installations. The first explosion occurred around 1.40 am on Sunday, while the second took place six minutes later. Two Air Force personnel were injured in this bomb blast.
The first blast damaged and left a hole in the roof of a one-storey building in the high-security technical area of the Indian Air Force-run airport on the outskirts of the city, while the second blast occurred on the ground six minutes later.
