New Delhi: 6 people have died due to boiler burst at a thermal plant in Cuddalore district of Tamil Nadu. At the same time, 17 people are injured. 17 people have just been taken to the hospital. According to NDTV report, the accident occurred at the power plant of Neyveli Lignite Plant (NLC India Limited) located in Cuddalore district. This place is about 180 km from the capital Chennai.

A power plant official said the boiler was not in use and the incident is being investigated. This is the second such blast incident in this power plant in the last two months.

Earlier in May, 8 employees were injured in a boiler blast. The incident then occurred in the evening in the sixth unit of Thermal Power Station-2, in which two workers suffered serious injuries. This company generates 3940 MW of electricity. The plant in which the accident occurred produces 1470 MW of electricity.
