Taj Mahal, Agra Fort to reopen from Sept  21 for visitors

Agra: It has been decided to open the world famous Taj Mahal and Agra Fort in Agra to tourists from 21 September. The District Magistrate of Agra gave this tweet.

Agra District Magistrate Prabhu N Singh said in a tweet that the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort will be opened to tourists from September 21. It is noteworthy that on 17 March, other monuments including Taj Mahal, Agra Fort were closed. The Taj Mahal and Agra Fort are closed in Agra. Apart from this, other monuments have been opened.

It has also been reported on the website of ASI Agra Circle that the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort will open to visitors from 21 September 2020. In this regard, an ASI official said that the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort are being opened from September 21 but only limited tourists will be allowed entry into the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort.

The official said that a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) has also been issued for this. Thermal screening will be done at the Taj Mahal Gate. Visitors will not be allowed to enter the Taj Mahal only when the temperature is right.
