New Delhi: The Supreme Court has stayed the show cause notice for contempt proceedings to the officers of the Center of the Delhi High Court. Now contempt proceedings will not work. Also, the Supreme Court has refused to change the order to give 700 MT oxygen per day. The Supreme Court said that however, the High Court is hearing the case daily. But no solution will come out of contempt proceedings against officers. The country is going through a difficult phase at this time. In such a situation, everyone should work together. People have to save their lives.
At the same time, the court said that at this stage when the country is facing a serious epidemic of unprecedented human dimensions. We need to adopt a problem solving approach. When the Supreme Court considers an issue, it has to look at things from the point of view of the whole country. We agree with the Solicitor General that there should be a special audit for the demand for oxygen in Delhi. So to know how much oxygen can be needed in 2021 in Delhi.
The court said that the Center and Delhi government will contact MCM for supply of oxygen in Mumbai within three days. The Center should tell the Bench at 10.30 am on Thursday how 700 MT of oxygen will be ensured in Delhi.
