The security machinery around Mumbai fell into a tizzy on 6 August 2021, due to a bomb hoax. According to reports, police officials received an anonymous tip about bombs being hidden at as many as three railway stations in Mumbai, and the bungalow of Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan.

The call was received on Friday night at around 9.45 pm, following which searches were held at the four locations, a police official informed. The bombs had allegedly been placed at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, the Byculla and Dadar railway stations and Amitabh Bachchan’s Juhu bungalow, the informant had claimed.

Also, teams of Anti Terrorism Squad commandos, Quick Response Team personnel, and a few local police officials were requisitioned for the operation, but nothing suspicious was spotted.
