Senior Uttarakhand Congress leader Indira Hridayesh passes away in Delhi

New Delhi: Indira Hridayesh, senior leader of Uttarakhand Congress and Leader of Opposition of the state, died of cardiac arrest in Delhi this morning. In her political career, Indira Hridayesh gave many new places to the politics of Uttarakhand and did a lot of development work in the state, especially in Kumaon Mandal, she has been considered a messiah of help.

Indira was 80 years old and was active in politics for the past 47 years. She was a cabinet minister in the previous state government of Congress. Congress state incharge Devendra Yadav told that Indira had come to Delhi to take part in the party meeting. He died due to heart attack.

Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi has expressed condolences on her death. Rahul wrote in his tweet, “sad news of the demise of Dr. Indira Hridayesh ji, a strong link of the Congress party in Uttarakhand. She worked for public service and Congress family till the end. Her social and political contributions are an inspiration.”

Congress General Secretary Priyanka Vadra has condoled the death of senior Congress leader by tweeting, Priyanka tweeted “sad news of the demise of senior Congress leader and Leader of Opposition of Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly Dr. Indira Hridayesh ji.
Today we have lost a hardworking leader, popular representative and guardian. May God give her a place at his feet and give courage to the family members to bear the pain in this hour of grief.

Former CM and BJP leader Trivendra Singh Rawat has Indira Hridayesh Expressing grief over his death, he said, “Indira sister-in-law in her long political career held many positions and became proficient in the work of the legislature. Sister’s passing is a personal loss for me.
