In an startling revelation it has come to fore that the Schedule Castes are not getting justice from police as the Schedule Caste/Schedule Tribe Commission is flooded with cases related with police.
The State SC/ST Commission Chairman Ram Babu Harit said on Monday that the 80 percent of the complaints creceived by Commission are related with police which failed to provide justice to dalits forcing them to turn up on the doors of Commission to seek justice.

The SC/ST Commission chairman said that he will shortly meet the Chief Minister Yogi Aditynath to apprise him about the plight of dalits and seek his intervention to ensure justice for downtrodden people.
Ram Babu Harit who has completed three months in the office as the head of the Commisdion said that during this period the Commission has received 1817 complaints of which maximum were police related followed by Revenue Department. ” Most of the complaints have been disposed off ” he further said.
The SC/ST Commission Chairman also expressed concern over the laxity of the officers in providing timely compensations to the victims or sufferers or their family members or dependents. ” I have ensured the distribution of more than Rs 37 lakhs as compensation during my tenure of three months so for and issued directives to the concerned officers to ensure speedy distribution of compensations to the victims or complainants”. said Ram Babu Harit.
