Road shows, padyatras, vehicle rallies banned in West Bengal

New Delhi: In view of the rising outbreak of Corona virus infection, the Election Commission has banned road shows, padyatras, bicycle and vehicle rallies in West Bengal from 7 pm on Thursday. The Commission has once again issued strict guidelines in view of the situation caused by the corona virus epidemic.

The Commission has said that neither a road show nor a padyatra will be allowed in West Bengal. No party or leader can hold a bicycle, bike or vehicle rally. The Commission has said that if any such permission has already been given, it is withdrawn. The Commission expressed displeasure over the fact that many political parties and candidates were not following safety standards during public meetings.

The Election Commission has also prohibited the holding of public meetings with more than 500 people at one place. During this time all other rules related to physical distance and corona have to be followed.
