RDIF and Dr Reddy’s Lab come together for Sputnik-V trial in India

New Delhi: Russia’s coronavirus vaccine Sputnik-V will be trialled in India by Phase III global pharmaceutical company Doctor Reddy Laboratory Limited. It has been agreed between the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) and Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories (DRL). Only Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd. will conduct clinical trials and distribution of Russia’s Corona vaccine. After getting regulatory approval, RDIF will give 10 million doses of vaccine to DRL.

The delivery of the vaccine may start by the end of 2020, after the trial is successful and the person registrations from the Indian Authority. Clinical trial of this much talked about vaccine of Russia is going on.

Let me tell you that just last week, the member of NITI Aayog, Dr. VK Paul had told in a press conference that Russia has requested to trial its vaccine in India. 3-4 companies have also responded to this. He described it as a win-win situation for all.

Earlier (RDIF) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Kirill Dimitrev also said that Russia will start a clinical trial of its vaccine in India from this month. He had told that there is a plan to do a clinical trial in September in Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Philippines, India and Brazil.
