Jaipur: Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Friday said he wanted Assembly session to convene from July 27 and had asked Governor Kalraj Mishra to give permission for the same. With Governor yet to announce his decision, Gehlot accused him of acting under pressure from the “top” and not giving directions to call the session.
Ashok Gehlot attacked the BJP fiercely. He said that while a crisis like Corona has come in the country, a conspiracy is being hatched to topple state governments in the country. He said that we have a majority. The BJP has held the MLAs hostage. He is also our partner but he has been taken hostage. He raised the question and asked why the Governor is not giving approval to call the assembly session.
Ashok Gehlot said that the country has never seen such a situation. Many governments came in the country but such situations never happened. CM Gehlot said that BJP is putting democracy in danger. Agencies are getting raided The country has never seen such an orgy. He said, ‘Work according to the oath taken by the Governor or else the people of Rajasthan will surround the Raj Bhavan and we will not be able to do anything.
In a relief for Sachin Pilot and 18 other dissident Congress MLAs, the Rajasthan High Court on Friday ordered status quo to be maintained in the disqualification case against the Pilot camp. With the HC order, no action can be taken on disqualification notices against dissident MLAs as of now. The Supreme Court will resume its hearing into the matter on July 27. The Speaker had approached the Supreme Court urging it to stay the High Court proceedings on Pilot and camp’s petition. However, the apex court on Thursday refused to restrain the HC from passing its order.
