
New Delhi: The Congress has come out on the road to oppose the government and support the farmers against the farm laws of the Center. Demonstrating solidarity with farmers agitating against the law, former Congress president Rahul Gandhi and party general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra protested outside Delhi’s Deputy Governor Anil Baijal’s house today.
Describing the agricultural laws of the Center as “black law”, farmers have been demonstrating on the Delhi border for the last 50 days. Negotiations are being held today between the farmers’ organization and the government on ways to end the impasse on the laws.
The Congress’s protest outside the Raj Niwas in the national capital is part of its “farmers rights” campaign. The Congress is celebrating Farmers’ Rights Day today and the Congress Committee of the states has been asked to gheraod the Raj Bhavan in their respective states.
Leading the protest outside the Raj Niwas, Rahul Gandhi said, “The BJP government must withdraw the agricultural laws. The Congress will not back down until these laws are repealed. These laws are not meant to help the farmers.” , but to eliminate them. “
