New Delhi: Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi may shift from Delhi to Lucknow after notice of vacant bungalow at Delhi’s Lodhi Estate. Priyanka is the general secretary of the party as well as the incharge of UP. Hence her move is being considered part of a very well thought out strategy. Priyanka’s visit to UP was reduced during the Corona transition. In such a situation, shift to Lucknow is also important from political point of view.
Congress sources said that Rahul and Priyanka have indicated to some party colleagues in UP that they can come to Lucknow within a month.
In fact, the Central Government on Wednesday asked Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra to vacate the government bungalow in Delhi’s Lodhi estate. They have been granted an extension till August 1, 2020. The Ministry of Urban Affairs has asked to vacate the government house within a month.
In a letter sent to Priyanka on behalf of the Deputy Director of Estates, it has been said that rent / fine will have to be paid for staying in the bungalow even after the appointed time. The letter cited SPG security as the reason behind the eviction of the bungalow. Priyanka has been asked to vacate the bungalow after giving a month’s notice.
