She is also slated to speak at public gatherings in Varanasi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi‘s Lok Sabha constituency, Gorakhpur, the Lok Sabha seat that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath served as an MP, and the Bundelkhand area during her five-day visit.

She’ll be in the state for the second time this month. She had previously visited the state for five days on September 9, during which she urged party workers to work around the clock in preparation for the elections next year. The Congress won only seven of the 114 seats it ran for in the 2017 Assembly elections. It had battled the Samajwadi Party in the polls.

This year, the Congress party has made it plain that it would run alone in the elections, not collaborating with any other major political party. Salman Khurshid, a former Union minister and senior party official, has stated that the party will run in the forthcoming Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections under Priyanka Gandhi’s leadership.

According to the senior Congress leader, the face for the CM candidate has not yet been selected. Uttar Pradesh, along with Punjab and a few other states, will hold Assembly elections early next year.

She also addressed the route of the party’s ‘Pratigya Yatra,’ and the establishment of training camps for booth administration and party units at the village level.

The Congress officials, according to the report, have already begun planning for the Varanasi gathering. Rajesh Mishra, a prominent Congress politician and former Varanasi MP, was cited as stating, “This is going to be a huge gathering being organised to convey a message of change to people throughout the state.”

In the 2017 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, the Congress teamed up with the Samajwadi Party. With a vote share of 6.25 per cent, the grand old party had only managed to win seven of the 114 seats it had contested. This time, the Congress party has already said that it would not unite with any significant political party to run in the 2022 elections.
