After supporters of the Congress and the BJP fought during a Gareeb Kalyan Mela held in Sangipur block on Saturday, BJP MP Sangamlal Gupta was reportedly wounded. Police had already charged Pramod Tiwari, a prominent Congress official, and his daughter Aradhna Mishra, a Congress MLA and the leader of the Congress Legislative Party, with attempted murder.
The action was taken against Lalganj CO Jagmohan Singh’s “negligence” in not deploying sufficient police personnel for such a significant function, according to Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Awanish Kumar Awasthi.

An event linked to the Gareeb Kalyan Yojna was held in the Sangipur police station area on Saturday at 2 p.m. The ceremony was attended by local MP Sangamlal Gupta, MLA Rampur Khas Aradhna Mishra, and former MP Pramod Tiwari. There was a dispute between supporters of both parties about who should sit on the stage.
There was an altercation, which resulted in mismanagement. According to the report, CO Jagmohan Singh failed to anticipate the police force deployment for such a significant government event, resulting in a robust law and order situation,” Awanish Kumar Awasthi wrote in an order.
Before his suspension, CO Jagmohan Singh stated that BJP MP Sangamlal Gupta was planned to be at the location at noon on Saturday. At the same time, Congress MLA Aradhna Mishra and Pramod Tiwari were set to arrive at 3 p.m. However, the MP arrived late for the event, and the Congress leaders arrived ahead of schedule, bringing their supporters to face to face and resulting in a fight, he claimed.
An FIR was filed against Congress leaders Pramod Tiwari and Aradhna Mishra and 25 other party leaders based on the BJP MP’s accusation. According to the lawsuit, Gupta accused Aradhna Mishra of stirring public outrage and shouting insults and said that her father, Pramod Tiwari, mistreated him and his followers.

All of the FIRs were filed in response to complaints made by various individuals. While the BJP MP said it was a “pre-planned attack,” with Congress supporters waiting with stones and bricks, Congress leader Pramod Tiwari accused the BJP lawmaker and his followers of the brawl.
