PM Pays Tribute to Sardar Patel: Introduces Bhavan

On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Sardardham Bhavan in Ahmedabad through video conferencing and conducted the “Bhoomi Pujan” of the Sardardham Phase-II Kanya Chhatralaya (girls’ dormitory) at the same event. As their titles imply, the two enterprises are devoted to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the “Iron Man of India,” as their titles suggest.

PM Modi said how Lord Ganesha is prayed before beginning a new project, and the Sardardham Bhavan is being opened when the country celebrates Ganeshotsav. PM Modi recalled Patel’s participation in the Kheda struggle, saying that under the Sardar’s leadership, all sectors of society joined together and forced the British to listen to their demands.

“Today, that inspiration, that spirit sits in front of us as the Statue of Unity,” the Prime Minister added, referring to Gujarat’s Kevadia, which houses the world’s most giant statue. On the 143rd anniversary of the “Iron Man’s” birth, it was dedicated on October 31, 2018.

PM Modi also recalled several significant events that occurred on September 11, including the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks in the United States. However, according to PM Modi, this day is linked to inspiring events such as Swami Vivekanand’s renowned address at the World’s Parliament of Religions in Chicago in 1893.

He also stated that a Chair in honor of Tamil poet Subramania Bharati, who died on this date in 1921, would be established at Banaras Hindu University’s Faculty of Arts. Gujarat’s chief minister, Vijay Rupani, and his deputy, Nitin Patel, were also there and spoke to the crowd.
