PM Modi wants to make India a global hub of Artificial Intelligence

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday stressed the need to use Artificial Intelligence (AI) responsibly. He said that the world should be protected from the armament of AI by elements or organizations operating in a different way from the state. It also said that we want to make India a global hub of AI. PM Modi was addressing the Summit ‘Raise 2020’ organized on AI.

He said that AI has a big role to play in building next generation urban infrastructure and strengthening disaster management systems. The conference was organized jointly by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and NITI Aayog.

PM Modi said, “It is our collective responsibility to instill confidence in how AI is being used.” Transparency in algorithms is important to build trust. We must protect the world from the weaponisation of AI by elements or organizations operating in a different way from the state. “He further said that in India we have experienced that technology improves transparency, supply of services. AI’s association with human thought can bring amazing results to the Earth.
