New Delhi: Farmers’ protest against three agricultural laws continues. Meanwhile, farmers have planned to take out a tractor march on 26 January in Delhi, on which Supreme Court Chief Justice SA Bobde said on Monday that it is the job of the police to decide whether to let the farmers take out a tractor rally. Therefore, on the Republic Day, the tractor march of farmers will be held, on which the ball is seen in the hands of Delhi Police. However, the case will be heard again in court on Wednesday.
The Supreme Court says that the police has to decide on permission to perform at Ramlila Maidan. Also, the court said that the police will decide how many people will come to the city. The Chief Justice said that now the court has to tell what power the government has under the Police Act. Now the matter will be heard in the Supreme Court on Wednesday.
Significantly, the farmers unions protesting against the agricultural laws of the center said that they would take out their proposed tractor parade in Delhi on the occasion of Republic Day and also they committed to continue their agitation till the agricultural laws are repealed. On the other hand, Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar urged to discuss “options” instead of repealing the laws in the next round of talks to be held on 19 January.
