New Delhi: In the midst of a ten-month standoff with China in East Ladakh, Army Chief General Narwane today said in two clear words that India is in favor of resolving the issue through dialogue and political efforts but no one should make a mistake to test our patience.
In his traditional address at the parade ground here on Friday on the occasion of Army Day, General Narwane said, “The last year has been very challenging for the Army. Everyone is familiar with the ongoing tension with China on the northern border. The conspiracy for a unilateral change on the country’s borders was broken. I would like to assure the country that the martyrdom of Galvan’s heroes will not go away. The Indian Army will also not let the country fall on sovereignty and security. We are committed to resolve disputes through dialogue and political efforts, but let no one make the mistake of testing our patience. “
He said that eight rounds of military commander level talks have been held between the two countries and efforts will be made to resolve the current situation on the principle of mutual and equal security. Referring to the encouragement of the troops stationed along the Line of Control in East Ladakh, he said, “Despite heavy cold and difficult conditions, the morale of our soldiers is much higher than the mountain peaks they are guarding vigorously. “
On this occasion, he also launched the Indian Army Mobile App developed by the Army. He said that this app will give detailed information about the Indian Army to the citizens of the country, especially the young generation.
