New Delhi: Within five hours of the blast at the Jammu Air Force airport, the National Investigation Agency, probing the case, has arrested two suspects from Belicherana on the outskirts of the city here.
In a first-of-its-kind attack in the country, drones were used to airdrop explosives at an Indian Air Force (IAF) base in Jammu, triggering two low-intensity blasts in the early hours of Sunday, injuring two soldiers. Two low-intensity blasts took place at around 2.15 pm in the high security area of Jammu Air Force Station, an official said.
Reliable sources said, “The NIA team has detained two suspects in the Air Force station blast incident from Belicherana area.”
Air Force officials said in their tweets that one explosion caused minor damage to the roof of a building while the other exploded in an open area. “The roof and window panes have been damaged due to the blast,” the official said.
Two Air Force personnel WO Arvind Singh and LAC SK Singh sustained minor injuries and were given first aid.
