New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said there is a need to come out of the gloom of turmoil around the world in the wake of the Corona pandemic and work together to bring the economy back on track and save the earth from the next pandemic.
Shri Modi said this while delivering a speech at the 5th edition of VVTECH as the Chief Guest through video conference. The Prime Minister was invited as the Chief Guest to address one of Europe’s largest digital and startup events, VVTech 2021, being held in Paris every year since 2016.
The Prime Minister said that India and France have been working together in various fields. Among them are emerging areas of technology and digital collaboration. It is the need of the hour that such cooperation should be increased continuously. This will help not only our nations, but also the world to a great extent. He informed that Infosys is providing technical support for the French Open tournament and collaborating with French companies like Atus, Capagemini, TCS of India and Wipro from both the countries serving companies and citizens across the world.
Shri Modi said that where tradition fails, innovation helps. During the pandemic, digital technology has helped us cope, connect, be comfortable and comfort. India’s Universal and Unique Biometric Digital Identification System – Aadhaar helped in providing timely financial support to the poor. The Prime Minister said, “We have supplied free food to 80 crore people and given LPG subsidy to many families. In India, we have been able to conduct two government digital education programs – SWAYAM and DIKSHA – to help students in a short span of time.”
