Muslims of Assam should adopt family planning: CM Biswa Sarma

New Delhi: Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday appealed to the minority Muslim people of the state to adopt a good family planning policy for population control. He said that population is the root cause of every social crisis and if we can control it then social evil will automatically reduce.

The Chief Minister of Assam further said that the population policy is already in place and it will be effective soon like government jobs. Population policy was also implemented in the last assembly, but the government wants to work to reduce the population burden for the minority Muslim community.

Himanta Biswa Sarma said, “We want to do more work for the minority Muslim community to reduce the population burden. We want to work with them so that the population can be controlled in the state. Population is the main root of social threat like poverty, land encroachment and we can reduce this social threat if population is reduced.
