
Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday ordered imposition of National Security Act(NSA) on the four accused in the Muradnagar roof collapse and raised the compensation amount to the victims’ family to Rs 10 lakh each.
According to official spokesperson here, the state government will provide Rs 10 lakh each to the family of the kin along with a house, if they are homeless.
The CM has ordered that the entire loss of the government exchequer would be realised from the officials and the contractor.
“Cases under NSA would also be lodged against the accused ,” the CM ordered. An FIR was lodged against four people of Muradnagar municipality in which all have been arrested.
The arrested officials are EO Ms Niharika Singh , JE Chandrapal Singh, supervisor Ashish and contractor Ajay Tyagi was on run.
The FIR was registered the four named people and unidentified others under section 304,337, 337, 427 and 429 of the IPC at Muradnagar police station.
Meanwhile, death toll in the roof collapse incident rose to 27 on Tuesday after two more injured succumbed to their injuries at the hospital. However, 15 people are still in the hospital undergoing treatment.
The incident took place when the family of one Arvind Kumar was holding a condolence of his grandfather under the roof amid rains on Sunday afternoon.Around 50 people had assembled there when suddenly the roof caved in burying almost everybody. Kumar too died in the incident.
