Aparna Yadav, the daughter-in-law of Samajwadi Party patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav, is expected to join the Bharatiya Janata Party on Sunday. However, Aparna is Mulayam Singh’s younger son Pratik Yadav’s wife who is already known for supporting the state leading party, BJP.

Aparna Yadav has had multiple disagreements with her family members over the NRC and Ram Mandir in the last year. Aparna made a direct attack on her father-in-law by donating Rs 11 lakh for the construction of the Ram Mandir in February 2021.
Aparna Yadav ran for the Lucknow Cantt seat in the 2017 Uttar Pradesh Assembly election. She was defeated by BJP candidate Rita Bahuguna Joshi by 33,796 votes.
It has been said that her joining in the party has been ongoing for some time, and about to complete within a few hours. From the past, Aparna publicly supported the voice of PM Narendra Modi and expected to be a part of the party in the presence of Union Minister Anurag Thakur and Uttar Pradesh BJP leader Swatantra Dev.

According to the sources, it has been supposed that Aparna would participate in the election from Lucknow Cantt constituency. However, In the past week, at least 14 MLAs from the saffron camp have quit the party and joined Samajwadi Party.
