Gwalior: In Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, at least 13 people lost their lives in a gruesome road accident on Tuesday morning. The accident occurred in the old cantonment area, where a heavy collision of bus and auto killed many people and injured four people. According to the police, at the time of the accident, the bus was going towards Morena.
The dead included 12 women and the driver of an auto-rickshaw. While eight women and an auto driver died on the spot, the other injured died in the hospital. Gwalior SP Amit Sanghi said the accident occurred around 7 am when the women, who cook at an “Anganwadi center”, were returning home after work.
Meanwhile, the state government has announced an ex-gratia of Rs 4 lakh each to the family of the deceased and Rs 50,000 to the injured. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan has also expressed grief over this incident.
Shivraj Singh Chauhan said, “Many people lost their lives in Gwalior due to a collision between a bus and an auto, I am deeply saddened. On behalf of the state government, assistance of Rs 4 lakh to each deceased’s family and Rs 50,000 to the injured. The amount will be given. “
