Parliament Monsoon Session Live Updates: The monsoon session second day too was adjourned till 2 PM after a stormy first day, Since the start of the second day it witnessed chaos, as opposition parties including TMC, Congress, RJD and DMK decided to raise the issue of Pegasus snoop gate in both the houses. Due to the ruckus and uproar by the opposition, the Rajya Sabha session has been adjourned till 12 pm while Lok Sabha has been adjourned till 2 pm on Tuesday by the speaker.
In the lower house, some opposition members went to the well of the house raising placards and slogans against the Modi government. Some of the placards are demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.
As per the itinerary IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnav is scheduled to make a statement later in the day in Rajya Sabha in the Pegasus leak issue. TMC MP Sukhendu Sekhar Ray and others have given notices to discuss the issue in the Rajya Sabha under Rule 267 of the house.
Meanwhile, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will be scheduled to move The Factoring Regulation (Amendment) Bill, 2020 in LokSabha for discussion before passing, while Food & Processing Minister, Pashupati Kumar Paras will have to move The National Institutes of Food Technology, Entrepreneurship and Management Bill, 2021 which too looks in jeopardy. In The Upper House, The Marine Aids and Navigation Bill, 2021 was listed for discussion.
PM Modi has asked MP’s of all the political parties to attend the Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan’s address and presentation on the update about India’s Covid management and strategy on Tuesday at 6 pm; where PM Narendra Modi too will be present along with his cabinet and BJP MP’s. The presentation will update the member of the Parliament that how India managed the Covid pandemic and what more need to be done.
