Yogi Adityanath is enjoying the success of his historic win as he is taking the sworn-in for the second term as the Uttar Pradesh state’s Chief Minister on Friday i.e. 25th March 2022. The mega ceremony is being conducted at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium which is situated in Lucknow.

Being an endorser of BJP, he ensured to leave a mark on the masses during the polling season of the State Assembly elections that were held between February and March this year in seven phases. The total counting of votes was conducted on 10 March 2022. As he took pride in winning the elections again for the second time in UP, let us explore the wonderful facts about this minister.

Yogi Adityanath hails from Pauri Garhwal which is presently known as Uttarakhand. His actual name is Ajay Singh Bisht and this 49-year-old minister gave away his name and family at the age of 21 to become the disciple of Mahant Avaidyanath who is the chief priest of the Gorakhpur Math. Eventually, he got the name Yogi Adityanath.

Being presently elected as the BJP legislature party leader, this chief minister started his journey into politics at the age of 26. He contested from Gorakhpur where he got elected four times in the years of 1999, 2004, 2009, and 2014. You will be astounded to know that this Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister is the luckiest one to have got re-elected for the second term after serving for a full, five-year period making him the first Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh to be so. 

Taking a peek into his personal life, we understood that he came from a humble and simple family where his father Anand Singh Bisht used to work as a forest ranger. He has four brothers and three sisters. He holds a mathematics degree from the Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University in Uttarakhand. He has been a supporter of the Ayodhya Ram temple since the 1990s. He has even set up a school in his ancestral village in 1998. 

Yogi ji has even written two books titled Haṭhayoga svarūpa evam sādhanā, Gorakhapura and Rājayoga : svarūpa evaṃ sādhanā. He has even established the Hindu Yuva Vahini in the year 2002. It is a socio-cultural group where the volunteers worked towards campaigns of protection for cows and also attempted to reduce cases of love jihad. He also created a purification campaign called Ghar Wapisi in 2005 where converted people returned to Hinduism from other religions.

He is renowned for his fiery speech and tall promises to make the state of Uttar Pradesh quite a developed and established one which no other previous government could do or make. 

In his political career, he has also been charged with an attempt to murder for violating places of worship, doing riots with destructive weapons, and even criminal intimidation. Yogi ji’s father passed away on 20 April 2020 and he was saddened for being unable to attend his final rites due to the nationwide lockdown. An interesting fun fact is Yogi Adityanath wakes up quite early in the morning at 3 AM and goes to sleep by 11 PM, which means he rests for only 4 hours every night and uses the remaining 20 hours to work on his ambitions.
