Meerut: Meerut has become a hotspot of new strain of corona virus. A total of 15 patients have been found in the district after six more cases of new strains were reported on Wednesday. The administration is also concerned with increasing number of UK strain infections. At the same time, the Health Department has said that all patients should be kept in isolation wards of hospitals.
Significantly, the family returned from London was living in Sant Vihar area of TP Nagar. This family was also tested during a campaign to conduct corona testing . After the family members were found to be corona infected, the Health Department had sent their samples to the Central Lab of Delhi due to the possibility of a new strain of corona virus among them. In the report from there, the corona virus was confirmed to be a new strain in the two and a half year old girl of the family.
Taking immediate action, the Health Department sealed the Sant Vihar area and conducted antigen tests of the residents. The health department had also sent samples of 13 people who came in contact with the girl in the wake of fears of a dangerous strain. In these samples, reports of the girl’s parents, brother and uncle were confirmed to be infected with Corona’s new strain.
On Wednesday, the health department was stirred after six more people of Balwant Enclave got new corona strain. It has been decided to place these new patients in Isolation wards of government and private hospitals. At the same time, information is also being obtained about the people coming in contact with these new patients. Preparations are also being made to seal the area of residence of these infected people.
Now Meerut has become a hotspot of new strain of corona virus. Meerut has got the maximum 15 patients in the state. The administration and health department are taking extra vigil regarding the spread of Strain-2 in the district.
