Massive fire at gas well of OIL in Assam’s Tinsukia

New Delhi: A massive fire broke out on Tuesday after the explosion in the gas well of the state-run gas company Oil India Limited in Bagjan of Tinsukia district of Assam. A team of NDRF is present on the spot for relief work. No casualties were reported in the incident at the moment.

This well also exploded on May 27, after which oil and gas leakage continued. Oil India Limited’s expert and many other engineers from Singapore were also at work during the blast in this well. This accident happened before the gas could be controlled. There are reports of injuries to some workers.

Oil India Limited spokesperson Trivediv Hazarika said that the exact cause of the blast has not yet been ascertained. A counter-researcher said that we heard the explosion and in a few moments there was darkness in the sky. There was fire everywhere.
