Kolkata: The relations between the Chief Minister and the Governor in West Bengal have become so sour that Mamata Banerjee now wants to show Jagdeep Dhankhar the way out of the state at any cost. Now Mamata Banerjee has made a big attack on the Governor. Mamata has described Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar as corrupt. Questioning the recent visit of the Governor, he alleged that a conspiracy was being hatched to divide North Bengal. Terming the allegations as unfortunate, Governor Dhankhar said that there was no truth in it.
Mamata Banerjee has said that I have written three letters to remove the Governor of West Bengal. He is a corrupt man, his name was mentioned in the chargesheet of the Hawala Jain case in 1996.
At the same time, the Governor retaliated and called Mamata Banerjee’s allegations as sensationalist. He has said that no one was found guilty in the hawala case. After all, what is the chargesheet in which the governor’s name is mentioned? There is no such document. This is clearly giving false information.
Jagdeep Dhankhar and Mamata Banerjee’s fight has intensified after the Trinamool Congress occupied the power of West Bengal for the third time in a row. The Trinamool Congress, which returned to power with a majority, wants to oust Jagdeep Dhankhar from Bengal as soon as possible. The seriousness of the matter can be gauged from the fact that Mamata has already spoken to Bengal Assembly Speaker Viman Banerjee in this matter.
Assembly Speaker Viman Banerjee had complained to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla about Jagdeep Dhankhar earlier this week. He had said that the Governor was interfering excessively in the business of the House. Mamata Banerjee herself has written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi that Jagdeep Dhankhar should be removed from the post of Governor of West Bengal.
