Mumbai: Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh, who is running in controversies over allegations of corruption, has submitted his resignation on Monday. He shared his resignation on Twitter, in which he has said that he is resigning from his post on moral grounds, urging Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray to accept his resignation and release him.
His resignation came after the Bombay High Court on Monday ordered the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to initiate a preliminary inquiry into the allegations in which Parbir Singh, a former Mumbai police commissioner, was accused of corruption on Deshmukh saying that he The target of recovery was given to the officers.
In his resignation written in Marathi, Anil Deshmukh has said that now that the CBI inquiry has been ordered by the High Court, then it is not morally good to continue his post, hence resigning from his post.
Parambir Singh had filed a petition in the Bombay High Court on allegations of corruption against Home Minister Anil Deshmukh, in which he demanded a CBI inquiry. According to Parambir’s allegations, Deshmukh had instructed many police officers to recover Rs 100 crore every month.
