New Delhi: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee announced on Monday that the lockdown ending in the state on June 15 has been extended for the next 15 days. That is, there will be a lockdown in the state till June 30. The case has been steadily increasing in the state due to which this decision has been taken. At the same time, in Mizoram, it has been decided to extend the lockdown for two weeks. This increase will be considered from 9 June.
Lockdown in West Bengal till 30th June
After a Cabinet meeting, She said that the lockdown in the state is being extended till June 30, all the existing concessions and conditions will remain the same. Earlier, we had approved the participation of 10 people in social events such as weddings or funerals, the limit of which has now been increased to 25.
The Mamta Banerjee government had relaxed the conditions of lockdown in the state from June 1 and approved the opening of religious places and to fully start work in the jute, tea and construction sectors.
Lockdown extended in Mizoram till 9 June
At the same time, there was an important meeting of the Mizoram government led by Chief Minister Jormthanga, in which it was decided to extend the lockdown for two weeks. This extention in lockdown will be considered from 9 June. The Manipur government had decided to extend the lockdown till June 30 only last week. Apart from this, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra and Punjab had already extended the lockdown till June 30, but those governments had also announced a number of exemptions. Concessions are being given in lockdown from Monday i.e. 8th June. These concessions are being given at a time when more than 2,56,000 people have been infected with Corona in the country.
